that it’s not okay to talk to people

I’ll learn
that its better to be mysterious
and let your eyes
do the talking for you
while always holding on to the biggest secrets
Eventually
I’ll learn
that its better to let people think
they know you
than for them to understand
who you really are
and to prefer who they fantasized you were
Eventually
I’ll learn
that my heart, while super-strong and durable
does have its limits
Eventually
I’ll learn
that people don’t want to know
they really just don’t want to know
they want to hide from
your soft raw sensitive spots
from your holes.
